As per Order of the Joint Director of Technical Education No. 1/ROM/TE/088 DATED 28-5-1999 it is hereby informed that MAHARASHTRA PROHIBITION RAGGING ACT-1999 is in force.
As per this Act, Ragging within or outside any educational institution is prohibited. Whosoever directly or indirectly commits, participates in, abets or propagates ragging within or outside any educational institution shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years and shall also be liable to a fine to the extent of ten thousand rupees. Any student convicted of an offence of ragging under section 4 shall be dismissed from the educational institution such a student shall not be admitted in any other educational institution for a period of five years from the date of order of such dismissal.
| To prevent ragging in the Premises and vigilantly take round and see that no students are found indulging ragging. The Strict and stringent action should be initiated against the defaulters as per rules laid down by the AICTE and Hon’ourable Supreme Court. | ||
