Eligibility

Educational Qualification

To be Eligible for admission to the first year of diploma course in Engineering Technology, (Semester Pattern) the candidates should have:

  • Passed Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination of Maharashtra State Board Of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, or any Other equivalent examination with the following subject (with minimum 35% marks):-
    • General Science or Physics & Chemistry
    • Mathematics or Algebra & Geometry
    • English

The Following categories of candidates shall be eligible for admission.

01 Maharashtra State Candidate Candidate passing Std. VIII, IX & X examination from any recognized school in Maharashtra State will be treated as Maharashtra State Candidate. For such candidate domicile Certificate is not Essential.
02 Maharashtra Domiciled Candidates Candidate Passing Std. VIII / IX / X examination from a recognized School outside Maharashtra State. AND Father / Mother of the Candidate is domiciled in the state of Maharashtra.
03 Sons & Daughter of Central Govt. / Govt. Of India undertaking Employee Candidate Passing Std. VIII / IX / X examination from a recognized School outside Maharashtra State. AND Father / Mother Of the Candidate is a central Govt. / Govt. Of India Undertaking employee who is posted in Maharashtra and reported for duty before the Submitting the application from.
04 Sons & Daughter Of Maharashtra State Govt./ Maharashtra State Govt. Undertaking employee Reported for duty in Maharashtra State deputation period outside Maharashtra Candidate Passing Std. VIII / IX / X examination from a recognized School outside Maharashtra State. AND Father / Mother of the Candidate is a Maharashtra State Govt. Undertaking employee Who is transferred from other state to Maharashtra and reported for Duty in Maharshtra OR Returned from deputation to other state Back to Maharashtra and reported for duty in Maharashtra befor the Last date for submitting the application from.
05 Maharashtra State Candidate (Sons and daughter of Maharashtra State Govt. / Maharashtra State Govt. Undertaking / Central Govt. / Govt. Of India Undertaking Employee who is transferred to a Place in another district and the Candidate intends to shift to the District where the Father / Mother Are posted) Candidate Passing Std. VIII, IX and X examination from a Recognized School in Maharashtra State. AND Father / Mother of the candidate is a State Govt. / State Govt. Undertaking / Central Govt. / Govt. of India Undertaking employee Who is transferred to a place in another District from the place of Passing of qualifying examination of their Children in Maharashtra And reported for duty before the last date submitting the Application from.

Reservation for Backward Class Candidates

The Percentage of Seats reserved for the backward class candidate from Maharashtra State are as per the details given in table below. The percentage of reservation are the percentages of the sanctioned intake capacity for the course in Govt. Aided an Unaided Polytechnic. Backward Class Candidates shall claim the category to which they belong at the time of application. If a candidate fails to claim reservation for the backward class on the application & subsequently claims reservation at the time of admission by producing necessary documents, such claim shall not be considered.

Note: The candidates claiming SBC Category shall be eligible for seat in open category & also for seats remaining vacant after admission of the candidate from Backward Class category. The reservation shall not exceed 2% of the sanctioned intake capacity.

EWS Eligibility certificate for Economically Weaker Section. The income limit of parents shall be as per the Govt.Norms declared from time to time. Tahsildar/ Sub Divisional Officer / Deputy collector / Collector of the district/ Metropolitan Magistrateor appropriate authority.

Reservation for sons / daughters of defence service Personnel

Five percent (5%) seats of the total sanctioned intake for polytechnic, subject to a maximum of five (5) seats in each Government, Government Aided and Unaided Polytechnics shall be reserved for the children of defence service personnel and ex-defence service personnel including those permanently disabled or killed in action. These seats are within the sanction in take capacity for the course.

Reservation for female candidates

As per the provisions in Govt. Resolution No. GEC-1000/ (123/2000) / Tech. Edu.- 1, dated 17th April, 2000, 30% seats shall be reserved for female candidates in all the Government, Govt. - Aided and Unaided Polytechnics in all the courses. This reservation shall be with in all categories like OPEN, SC, ST, VJ, NT 1, NT2, NT 3, OBC.
